The Grand Canyon
The Grand-Canyon is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The
national park is in the USA - in the north of Arizona. It's the longest,
widest and deepest canyon in the world.
The origin of the Grand Canyon
The origin of the Grand Canyon begins at the Colorado River. The River
flow more than 5 million years through the mountainous countryside.
During this time the River erode more and more into the ground. So the
Grand Canyon evolved.
The Grand Canyon is five million years old, 277 miles long and 18 miles
wide. There are two major entrys. One of the north, and one of the south
rim of the Colorado River. The South Rim is the most famous entry point.
There are very many people, specially in the summer. At the North Rim
aren't so many people, and the entry is closed in winter. The elevation
at theNorth Rim is 15, miles, and at the South Rim 1,2 miles long.
Tourismus
The Grand Canyon is a very popular vocation goal. Every year visit five
million people the national park. You need one day to hike to the bottom
of the Grand Canyon, and one day to hike back to the top. Don't try to
hike to the bottom and back to the top in one day. People who try that
often break down on the way to the top. If you visit the Grand Canyon,
don't eat in cafeterias, beacause they're very expensive. Buy your food
in stores at big citys, that isn't so expensive.
